How To Re-Moisturize Dry Natural Hair Overnight

Dry natural hair can ruin your whole look. Luckily, there are simple ways to moisturize hair and look stunning the next day. See ways in which you can re-moisturize your dry natural hair below.

1. LIGHTLY Spritz Hair With Water

Water is the key to re-moisturize your dry natural hair.

When you have dry natural hair, the key tip is to add water. Take a spray bottle and lightly spritz your hair water. You can do this with protective styles such as braids or looser hairstyles such as twist outs. Just spritz your hair in sections and proceed to the next step.

2. Seal Your Hair With An Oil or Butter

Next, you have to seal in that moisture with an oil or a butter. I prefer to use Carol’s Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey which not only makes detangling my 4b hair easier, but it rejuvenates your hair without leaving it too greasy. It’s my miracle product.

When you are sealing your hair, focus more on the ends as its the oldest part of your hair. Again try to work in sections to make the process easier on your scalp.

As a bonus, oil your scalp to promote hair growth. Not only will the oil melt into your scalp, but depending on the one you choose, you can help fight dandruff or promote thickness. Here is a full list of which oils are best for your hair and a detailed break down as to what they do.

3. Two Strand Twist Your Hair

Twisting your natural hair after sealing it helps retain moisture.

You may think that twisting takes up a ton of time, but once you get the gist, it’s a breeze. When your done sealing your hair try to two-strand twist your hair. This is also known as the LOC method (Liquid Oil Cream) which means that you are hydrating your hair and sealing it with an oil of some sort.

If you find your hair tangled, try to finger detangle or use a wide tooth comb if needed. Your hair should have more slip with the oil and the water.

4. Sleep With A Satin Scarf

Sleeping with a sating scarf helps reduce breakage.

Lastly, sleep with a satin scarf. Satin, unlike sleeping with cotton material, doesn’t dry your hair out. Furthermore, it won’t cause split ends and breakage.

When you wake up in the morning, your hair should be feeling much more moisturized. This is a guaranteed way to revitalize your dry natural hair for the next few days. Ignore those myths on natural hair and actually enjoy your natural hair.

  1. People have no knowledge of the fact that fast hair growth scalp therapy shampoos (of course without any sulfates, parabens or DEA) are a thing. Hair styling enthusiasts are now able to enjoy longer hair and have more possibilities. Definitely worth looking into it.

If you’re considering hair loss, hair damage, preventing skin disorders, fast hair growth, hair and scalp health in general, the same rules come to mind.

As a rule of thumb, you will want to steer clear of hair treatments and products that use chemicals such as parabens, DEA or sulfates.

What’s beneficial for your hair is good for your skin as well.
